Mission Statement

'To assist vulnerable people to live with dignity within their own homes'

This Fund is targeted at the most vulnerable homeowners needing urgent small improvements and adaptations that the current funding streams do not cover. The Fund, accessed by Home Improvement Agencies on behalf of their clients is currently operating as an emergency fund available to all Home Improvement Agencies across England.

Home Improvement Agencies are small not-for-profit organisations, helping homeowners and private sector tenants who are older, disabled or on low income to repair, maintain or adapt their homes. We have recently launched a £1m fundraising drive with the aim of expanding the fund to make it available to all HIAs across the country on behalf of their clients.

Accepting a donation from George Wimpey Plc in July 2003, Sir George Young MP (Chair of the Trust) said:

"This fund will help the most vulnerable people in our society. It is a recognised problem that minor repairs and adaptations to the home can prevent accident or illness, yet these are the ones for which there is often no available funding".
